Wileman design 20M long Rotary Screen

Picture shows the first of two rotary screens to be installed at a steel processing plant in Trinidad.

The rotary screens were designed to remove dust and fines from high yield steel pellets before being loaded on ship for transportation.

The Rotary screen was made in a number of bolted sections to help transportation & delivery from the UK.

Wileman Install HRI Rinsing Screen

Wileman’s first installation of 2016 was a Hewitt Robins 1.8M x 6M long Double Deck rinsing screen at Tarmac Dolyhir /  Strinds Quarry in Powys, Wales.

The project took 10 weeks from order to installation and will provide a final rinse to the -14mm products produced by the quarry prior to despatch.

Wileman supply included the support structure, chutework and access walkway and fresh water pipework. All installed on the site within a week.

The screen is notable for it’s Tema magnetic screening media which is the first complete decking of it’s kind in the UK.

Replacement of Pegson Scrubber with Wileman

Wileman continued 2016 with the replacement of a tired Pegson scrubber barrel at Springfield Farm Quarry near Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire. Wileman provided a fully refurbished second hand 2M Diameter x 4M long scrubber barrel of their own design to fit into the available space. The project also included the replacement of worn out chutework before and after the barrel installation. The job was completed within a week to enable full production to begin without the worry of anymore Pegson Barrel breakdowns. The Wileman uses less power than the Pegson and reduces the impact loads to the supporting structure due to the lorry tyres used on the Wileman system. Wileman keep washing plant in production despite gearbox failure.

The prospect of a failed gearbox on a piece of machinery is one of the worst scenarios to befall an operator due to the possibility of a lengthy shutdown waiting for a replacement. Gearbox production rarely allows for an ‘off the shelf’ ‘like for like’ replacement. Recently one of Wileman’s local Midland customers had this very problem happen to them. Luckily Wileman are not inexperienced in dealing with this situation. Wileman located a donor gearbox which could fit the machine and by incorporating a quickly designed adaptor plate managed to have the quarry back in production within a few days. The donor gearbox will be used until a new gearbox is available and supplied to replace. Customer service at it’s best.

Wileman rubber line 25M45 barrel. October 2017

Wileman completed the re-lining of one of their 25M45 scrubber barrels at Darrington Quarries West Yorkshire. The new liners replaced sub standard rubber liners, supplied by others, which had ripped & torn due to material getting underneath them. The new liners are preformed steel backed rubber liners which will hold their shape for their entire life. Once the steel backing shows in years to come the customer will know to order the next replacement set. These liners will be working on minus 125mm limestone at approx 150 tonnes per hour.
